DAY OF THE YOUNG CHILD

Saturday, April 21, 2018 | 9:30am – 1pm | @ Cityside Middle School | FREE!

Every year the State of Michigan designates April as the “Month of the Young Child” to celebrate young children and their families. Please join us for games, music, and art activities appropriate for 3rd graders and younger. Parents will also be provided bike and car seat safety information as well as educational resources appropriate for parents of young children. You will also want to head outdoors to the front of the school to have your children hop on a fire truck, school bus, cement truck, and other vehicles. Additionally, there will be face painting, animals to pet, and special visits from team mascots. You won’t want to miss this! For more information, contact Maggie Huizenga at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital at 748.2832 or maggie.huizenga@spectrumhealth.org.

We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Dr. Jessica Roberts to offer FREE educational seminars focused on exploring the important and powerful relationship between aging and exercise! Seminar topics span from exercise guidelines for generally healthy older adults to those who struggle with various conditions or concerns. We will review basic changes in the body with aging as well as with various conditions, how appropriate exercise can significantly benefit your mobility and quality of life regardless of health status, and where to get further guidance if you need it. The intended audience is adults 55 yrs old + as well as those who are involved in the care of an elderly family member or friend. Dr. Jessica Roberts is the owner of Jessica Roberts Physical Therapy & Wellness, a mobile private practice serving older adults in Holland, MI and the surrounding area. Her innovative practice reaches beyond walls with Physical Therapy taking place in the comfort and convenience of the home, and Wellness services and classes offered at community venues across town. She provides individualized education and expert care to equip adults to actively participate in their own journey toward optimal aging. The emphasis of her practice is on intervening early to proactively stave off preventable issues associated with aging so older adults can participate in activities they love. Although this series is free, registration is required. To register, click here, OR call (616) 748-3230.
