FALL/WINTER PROGRAMS

 

INTRODUCTION TO ARCHERY

10-15 yr olds | Tuesdays | Jan 16, 23, 30, Feb 6, 13, 20 | 4:30-5:30pm | @ Long Range Archery | $60, Zeeland Resident | $72, Non-Resident

This class, led by Branden Miedema from Long Range Archery in Holland, will focus on safety and the fundamentals of archery. Participants will learn the six steps to success and accuracy. SPRING/SUMMER PROGRAMS

 

INTRODUCTION TO TRAPSHOOTING

12-18 yr olds | Fridays | April & May, 2018 (Exact Dates TBD) | 6:30-8:30PM | @ Chick-Owa Sportsman Club | $25, Zeeland Resident | $37, Non-Resident

Participants ages 12-18 years old will be given instruction so that they can participate in the sport of trapshooting. Included will be 10 rounds of trap at Chick-Owa Sportsman Club (9279 Ottogan St, Holland, MI). Registration opens in February, 2018. Registration deadline is April 1, 2018. 

 

WETLANDS: PLANTS IN THE WETLANDS

K-5 Graders | June, 2018 (Exact Dates TBD) | @ Zeeland East Wetlands Pavilion

This programs is led by Jennifer Soukhome, Zeeland Public Schools science teacher. Children will explore the Zeeland High School wetland area and explore and observe wildlife. The emphasis in the session will be on plants. Children will learn and discover all about the wonderful plants at the wetlands through their own observations. Children in grades K-2 must be accompanied by a guardian. Participants should meet at the Zeeland East Wetlands Pavilion located just south of Riley Street and Zeeland Athletic Complex on 96th Ave. Please use the drive next to Waypoint Community Church. Session times are listed below. Registration opens in February, 2018.

  • 3rd-5th Graders: 10:30am – 12:00pm ($25, Zeeland Resident | $37, Non-Resident)

 

WETLANDS: AQUATICS ADVENTURES IN THE WETLANDS – WHAT’S IN THE WATER? 

K-5 Graders | June, 2018 (Exact Dates TBD) | @ Zeeland East Wetlands Pavilion

This programs is led by Jennifer Soukhome, Zeeland Public Schools science teacher. Children will explore what is living in the water at the Zeeland High School wetland area. Participants will obtain the unique organisms living in the water by using aquatic nets and minnow traps. Children will learn and discover all about the wonderful things hiding in the water at the wetland area through their own observations. Children in grades K-2 must be accompanied by a guardian. Participants should meet at the Zeeland East Wetlands Pavilion located just south of Riley Street and Zeeland Athletic Complex on 96th Ave. Please use the drive next to Waypoint Community Church. WETLANDS: WETLAND WONDER TOURS

K-5 Graders | June, 2018 (Exact Dates TBD) | @ Zeeland East Wetlands Pavilion

This programs is led by Jennifer Soukhome, Zeeland Public Schools science teacher. Parents and children will explore the water of the wetlands. Children will learn and discover all about the water at the wetland area through their own observations. Children will also run a simple experiment and lean about the effects of erosion on the water. Children in grades K-2 must be accompanied by a guardian. Participants should meet at the Zeeland East Wetlands Pavilion located just south of Riley Street and Zeeland Athletic Complex on 96th Ave. Please use the drive next to Waypoint Community Church.
