Lifeguard Certification

 

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION 

Sat, March 3, 10, 17 | 8am – 3pm | @ Zeeland Recreation Pools | $225, Zeeland Resident | $237 Non-Resident |

The American Red Cross Lifeguarding class is for the individual interested in becoming lifeguard certified for the first time. The course will teach you the basics in water safety and also the proper protocol when dealing with any emergencies around the water. This is a blending learning class and is a 20+ hours commitment. 11 of those hours are done online through the American Red Cross, prior to the March 3, 10 and 17 in person training in the water. Once registered, you will be contacted with directions for accessing the online portion of the class (which must be completed prior to March 3). Participants must be 15 years of age to participate and must provide their own lunch. LIFEGUARD RE-CERTIFICATION 

Sat, March 24 | 8am – 4pm | @ Zeeland Recreation Pools | $125, Zeeland Resident | $137 Non-Resident |

Lifeguard Recertification is designed to help you update your skills while also extending your certification for another two years. Recertification class is for those whose certification is still valid (or within 30 days of expiring). This is a blending learning class and is an 8-9 hour commitment. 4-5 of those hours are done online through the American Red Cross, prior to the March 24 in person training in the water. Once registered, you will be contacted with directions for accessing the online portion of the class (which must be completed prior to March 24). WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI) CERTIFICATION 

Mondays | Mar 19, 26, Apr 9, 16, 23 | 3:30 – 7:30pm | @ Zeeland Recreation Pools | $225, Zeeland Resident | $237 Non-Resident |

During the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor class, you’ll learn how to help adults and children enjoy their time in the water safely and in a wide range of ways. Earn your swimming and water safety instructor certification and gain the skills needed to teach swimming lessons and make presentations to swimmers of every age and ability. Through this class, you can help recreational swimmers meet their goals, refine their skills and stay safe in, on and around the water. This is a blending learning class and is a 20+ hours commitment. 10 of those hours are done online through the American Red Cross, prior to the first in person training in the water on March 19. Once registered, you will be contacted with directions for accessing the online portion of the class (which must be completed prior to March 24).
