Zeeland Recreation Aquatics Spring and Summer 2010
 
Zeeland Recreation Aquatics offers a variety of programs for all ages. All of our swim instructors are WSI certified or are specially trained to meet the needs of all participants. Feel free to contact aquatic staff with any questions. Zeeland Aquatics is committed to serving you with quality programs.
 
Monthly calendars with the most up-to-date information are available in the Recreation lobby and online at www.recreation.zps.org 
 
For your convenience, the Zeeland Aquatics hotline number is 748-3236. The hotline is updated on a regular basis with the most up-to-date scheduling information. Please call the hotline number for changes in the pool schedule due interscholastic activities or weather related cancellations.

Aquatic Weather Policies
 
Zeeland Aquatics will cancel all youth activities if ZPS is closed due to weather. All adult programming before 2:00pm will also be canceled. For adult programs scheduled after 2:00pm, weather conditions will be reassessed and a decision will be made no later than 2 hours prior to the program start time.  
 
If ZPS is delayed for any reason, all programs
scheduled before 9:00am will be canceled. Programs beginning at 9:00am or later will be held as scheduled.

Pool Rules
For the safety and health of all participants, Zeeland Aquatics strictly enforce the following rule and policies:
 
*Children under 42’ or non-swimmers MUST be accompanied by someone 16 years of age. 
*All non-swimmers must stay in the shallow end.
*No flotation devices in the deep end of the pool.
*We do not allow personal flotation items tat retain water such as lifejackets, noodles, floatable swim suits or wet suits. The water quality in the pool may be affected because of bacteria and algae that may lie dormant in these items. We have a supply of lifejackets for patrons to borrow.
*Zeeland Aquatics staff may request a swim test to determine a person’s swimming ability.
 
Diving Rules
*No diving in the shallow end.
*One person on the board at a time.
*Only on e bounce is allowed.
*All entries into the pool must be forward.
 
Inflatable Rules
*Once the person ahead of you has reached the ball you may start your turn.
*If you fall off the inflatable you must swim directly to the side of the pool and exit.
*You must be able to swim 25 yards without flotation devices. A swim test may be requested by Aquatics Staff.
*Flotation devices are not allowed on the obstacle course.
*Weight limit is 225lbs.
