Guardstart
If you are between 11 and 14 years old and have always wanted to be a lifeguard, now is the time to take the first step. Get a jump start on securing a future job as a lifeguard by completing the Red Cross Guardstart program. This class is for those with swimming skills and is an ideal transition between Red Cross Learn to Swim and Lifeguarding Class.
Prerequisites: Must be 11-14 years of age, able to swim 25 yards front crawl, tread water for 1 minute and submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet underwater.
Cost: $40.00 (workbook included)

Lifeguard Training
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course provides lifeguard candidates with the knowledge and skills they need to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Along with the rescue skills, the training will include CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillation. Candidates must be at least 15 years old and a proficient swimmer. Min: 6 Max: 10
